Can I Hire John S.
Rhodes?
Absolutely!
As a human factors engineer and usability professional
my job is to help you improve what you are creating or what you have already
created. I do battle with poor designs, inefficient systems, bad content, and weak
information architectures. I am particularly knowledgeable in the domain of Web site
usability.
There are actually several ways that I can help you;
here is a representative list:
- Web site analysis and testing. I will utilize
usability tools and procedures to analyze your Web site. You'll be given a document
detailing your site's problems, and some possible solutions.
- Web site design and content development. I
will help you develop or redevelop your Web site using strict usability criteria. I work
closely with other team members, providing the group with strategic management and
usability advice.
- User profiling and task analysis. Understand
how your users think, what they want, and what they need.I will help you know how your Web
site can satisfy your users' requests. I can aid you in the creation of surveys and
questionnaires also.
- Strategic Web profiling. I will help you
understand how your offline business fits with your online presence. Get a feel for
what your competitors are doing and how their sites relate to yours. I will help you
understand how the Web can boost your sales and increase your bottom line. Marketing
advice can also be provided.
- Usability test designing and scenario planning. I
will aid you in the setup of your usability tests and design sessions.I provide practical
advice on how to best acquire data and what test measures are critical to success. I can
also suggest several types of sessions and tests that can be used to acquire critical
data.
- Writing articles, generating usability content, and
documentation. I will help you write usable documents. I am also available as a
freelance usability and Web design writer.
- Usability, Web interface, and introductory human factors
workshops. On a limited basis, I can be secured to give workshops and
workgroup sessions on the issues of usability, interface design, human factors, information architecture, and content
development.
Feel free to ask me
about other things that I do. I can be hired for things beyond the areas
mentioned above. I am also willing to work with others on research projects, and I
can be available for other similar functions as well.
I also want to thank everyone for visiting Amazon.com
through WebWord.com. As an associate, I earn a small percentage of money from the
sale of items. In a sense, when you buy things from Amazon.com through WebWord.com,
you are helping to pay for the free information available here. (In a nutshell, I
get a small bit of money, Amazon gets a customer, and you pay nothing extra. It is
win-win-win.)
