Just-in-Time Journalism (CamWorld) -- "Could some clever entrepreneur assemble small groups of journalists, equip them with laptops, and send them to conferences around the country and the world to record the events in a near-realtime manner?"

Back when I worked at Medscape (http://www.medscape.com in 1998, will Bill Seitz of http://webseitz.editthispage.com) we equiped writers with Macs or eMates (Newtons with keyboards, remember those?) to report from medical conferences. The writers didn't have their hands on a content management system, so a little email was involved, but it was near-real time. Plus, we included audio interviews recorded direct-to-disc using the Macs.
