Windows XP Gripes (Computer Gripes) -- "Even when it's been fully registered, the WPA component wakes up from time to time to verify that it's still on the original system where it was first installed; and it "phones home" to check with the central Microsoft database to make sure it's still indeed a registered copy. If anything's amiss, your software reverts to reduced functionality mode ... Microsoft wants your full-fare money for the software *and* they want to know who you are and what PC you're using--- and you better give it to them pronto, buster, or they'll cripple your software!" (Comments: If you are brave, give Windows RG a try! Requires Flash.)

Windows XP is a monumental dissappointment and a royal pain in the butt!!!. It has been virtually impossible for me to install the software that will make my older trusted printers, scanners and camera work at all...can't even get them installed by downloading the xp versions from the manufacturers, nor by using the actual driver's CD's. Likewise, trying to install the DSL internet access gadgets and software has been a fruitless effort and a frustrating experience. Why did they have to screw things up so much with this suppossed "Easiest operating system ever" ???
