12/08/2001 Entry: "8-Dec-2001 -- In Defense of Search"

In Defense of Search (Peter Morville) -- "I really don't have anything against Jared Spool and I don't own a bunch of stock in a search engine vendor. I simply see search as a hugely under-developed component of many web sites and intranets. Yes, search has been pathetically implemented on countless sites. Yes, search is an easy target. But that's exactly why I wish Jared would stop kicking this poor, shivering underdog."

I hate it when I arrive at a site with no search. Search, when it works, lets me cut through the site's hierarchy and get what I want without "navigating"
