John, I would recommend permalinking comments with Movable Type. Then in the future, you won't have to tell users to scroll through comments to reach a specific comment. Permalinked comments would be especially valuable to a weblog that gets as many comments as WebWord does.

No, you have to code the comment permalinks using Movable Type tags. Unfortunately, the MT manual doesn't document it well. Here's the code I use to permalink comments:

<$MTCommentAuthorLink spam_protect="1"$> on <a href="<$MTEntryLink$>#<$MTCommentID pad="1"$>"><$MTCommentDate format="%b %e, %Y"$></a>

Just format the date to your preference and you're set!
