WebWord Weblog Posting Posting Date: August 23, 2002 Nutrition Watchdog Praises Burger King, McDonald's (ABC News) -- "The Center for Science in the Public Interest, the nutrition watchdog that takes aim at excess fat and calories, announced some unexpected allies on Wednesday: Burger King, McDonald's, Wendy's and Subway." (Comments: I absolutely hate article titles like this. This title is misleading. It is meant to make you think that the Center for Science in the Public Interest actually likes Burger King, McDonald's, Wendy's and Subway. Instead, what they are really saying is that, if you are going to eat the crap that these companies produce, you should probably eat their low calorie, low fat alternatives. There is no true praise for the companies; don't be fooled.)
Reader Comments...
Fine, so maybe they offed a tiny bit of praise... "[They] raved about McDonald's Fruit 'n Yogurt Parfait as "...a nutrient-rich bargain" with 380 calories and two grams of saturated fat." ...still, don't believe the title of the article. There is little praise for the fast food companies. They are selling us shit. Posted by: John S. Rhodes on August 23, 2002 12:13 AM
