Leap -- "Jennifer Brickhouse saw them holding hands, and Stuart DeHann saw them holding hands, and I hold onto that." (Jack comments: Big Media will be inundating us with September 11 memorials in the next week. I've become jaded by the 'war on terror' and loss of freedom and was prepared to ignore the deluge of 9-11 reflections. This article brought my perspective back to that day. Please share your thoughts or other online remembrances that affected you .)

Side note: the author's message worked for me, despite the religious overtones (I'm atheist). There is a longer version of Leap in this month's (printed) Utne Reader.

I decided to see what Google would say about Sept. 11. I found this:

"September 11"

I was surprised at actually finding myself wanting to cry when I read that (I'm not the emotional sort).

It shows the power of simple, human stories and observations. There are certain human ideas and symbols that have the power to touch all of us.

That was a touching piece. Of the many I've read, this poem by John M. Ford (author of sci-fi, fantasy, and gaming fiction) is the one that's moved me most.
