WebWord Weblog Posting Posting Date: December 28, 2002 What's That "Page Flicker"Thing? (IMDB) -- "Because we divide different categories of information about a movie into separate pages, the page flicker was designed to allow you to move forward and backward through the various pages we have about that particular movie." (Comments: Thanks Frank.)

Not really fond of this idea, since the architecture isn't necessarily user driven. Since there is left hand nav that someone can use in a directed fashion, is this an admission that the left-hand nav isn't really being used? Or is it another marketing-driven attempt to get people to delve deeper? Posted by: Frank on December 29, 2002 05:44 PM
When I move my mouse over the buttons, I have absolutely no idea which page it will take me to. Since IMDB usually has 20+ pages about a movie, playing click-a-roo isn't much help. From a user's point of view, this is a waste of time. A big thumbs down to this feature. (I'm back from a week long vacation, btw.) Posted by: MadMan on December 30, 2002 06:47 AM
