WebWord Weblog Posting Posting Date: September 09, 2003 Less Than Routine -- I'm getting some training this week so I'm away from home and I'm in a hotel. This morning I walked down to grab some breakfast and the paper. I read some of the paper, drank my juice, and started to head back to my room. Getting in the elevator at the same time was a pest control guy. As we are heading up, I ask him if the hotel is having bug problems. He says no, it's just routine maintenance. Now, I could probably believe the guy if it was very early in the morning or very late at night, and if he wasn't going straight to the 4th floor. Since when does "routine pest control" start at 7:45 (busy breakfast time, of course), on the 4th floor?

If I saw some specialist come in out of regular business hours, I'd doubt it was "routine maintenance". Routine stuff happens in routine hours. Posted by: on September 10, 2003 12:24 AM
Wouldn't the best time be around 11 AM? When most business guests would have left the hotel? Posted by: MadMan on September 12, 2003 12:12 AM
